Utilizing memos in structure

Zigi Fibert March 28, 2025

I've created a memo in my structure, but I'm not managing to use it in my calculations.  Any advice/documentation would be very welcome.

@Zigi Fibert

Memos do not exist in Structure Cloud. If you have memos, then you're using Structure for Server/Data Center.

Memos can be referenced in the formulas in the same way as flex items/folders/groups. And for adding custom values in issues, you can use the Notes column.

Best regards,
Stepan

Hello @Zigi Fibert

If you mean Flex items, then you can reference them in the formula by either defining a non-issuetype: if !issuetype : 1 or by their summary: if summary = "flex item summary": 1

If your goal is to have custom items with custom field values that don't exist in Jira, then you can use the Flex fields. These columns are also recognized by the Formula, so you can include them in calculations with other values.

I hope this helps. If you have more questions, please reach out top us directly at our support portal. We'll have a look at your setup in detail, and talk more about your requirements and needs.

Best regards,
Stepan

Definitely memo rather than flex item.  I've seen a help item on it (similar to the one you sent about the flex item, but I can't find it now.
