For Bamboo Email settings I was getting
The mail settings you entered were not valid. Error thrown was: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not convert socket to TLS; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
I thought it was something to do with SSL certificates but it turns out that it's a bug. I accidently pressed 'Use TLS' when I didn't need it and when I unticket it, it seems to persist.
If you are testing an email address and this error continues to come up, click 'Cancel' and then 'Delete'. Enter the details again and your good to go.
I've just added this for posterity (likely myself in the future).
Hi!
This problem related the java mail lib or self-sign ssl.
Let's upgrade to latest release of Bamboo 6.8 and reproduce it :)
Cheers,
