HTTPS errors on import

When trying to import a repository to our BitBucket dashboard I see errors:

  1. 04:51:21 git import for: https://git.ourdomain.com/saas/tools.git
  2. 04:51:21 Cloning https://git.ourdomain.com/saas/tools.git...
  3. 04:51:21 Cloning into bare repository 'ourdomain/tools'...
  4. 04:51:21 fatal: unable to access 'https://fred@git.ourdomain.com/saas/tools.git/': Peer's Certificate issuer is not recognized.
  5. 04:51:22 Remote Git clone failed: <class 'bitbucket.apps.async.tasks.ImportException'>: Command failed. Return value: 128

Our https server offers certificates signed for "*.ourdomain.com". The server communicates without issue with clients such as command line git and Chrome browser.

Any suggestions of how to get around the "Certificate issuer is not recognized" ?
