Hi there,
my bitbucket account registered for a company email at my previous employer requires me to access an inactive inbox. I get the "We've emailed you a code. We require additional verification to protect your account. Check your email to continue: an_obsolete_email_here" message upon login.
Is there a workaround for this (I do remember the password) or is that account unrecoverable ?
Hi Mateusz,
A requirement of logging into your Bitbucket Cloud/Atlassian account is that you can access the email inbox that is associated with that account. If you can't access the email account, unfortunately this means your account is unrecoverable.
Regards,
- Ben (Bitbucket Cloud Support)
Thanks for information.
Regards,
Mateusz Stachlewski

Hi Ben, I'm in a similar situation — I had registered my Bitbucket account using an Outlook alias which I later deactivated. I'm currently in contact with Microsoft support to try to restore access, but I'm not sure if it will work. I still have the email and password for Bitbucket, but I can't access the email inbox. There's a very important repository in that account that I would really like to recover. The alias still appears in my Microsoft account dashboard, so I could potentially prove ownership via a video call or another method.
