Hi,
I have lost access to the authenticator app on my smartphone and I am trying to get an ssh recovery code.
I am following the steps:
1) Navigate to you ssh folder
2)I type the command: ssh git@bitbucket.org recovery_codes
After this command, it prompts the ssh password.
Enter passphrase for key '/c/Users/adrsilva/.ssh/id_rsa':
3) I put my password and then it prompts:
Bitbucket two-step recovery codes
If you don't use a password to log in you'll need to contact support to recover your account: https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucke
Enter Bitbucket password (Warning: password displays when entered):
4) I put my bitbucket password, but it doesn't work. I know that it is the correct password because is the same password that I use to login to bitbucket before it stops with the two steps authentication message.
Question: What password should I use? Need it to be appended to the username or something else?
Hi Adriano! Thanks for reaching out and for the information provided.
If you can not obtain the recovery codes using the steps you mentioned, then you'll need to submit a support ticket so one of my colleagues will be able to continue assisting you with that. You can create a ticket via https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/.
Please let us know if you need anything else and we'll be more than happy to continue helping you.
Best regards,
Ana
