Hello,

I am trying to connect my existing Bitbucket workspace <workspace-id> to my new Atlassian Organization, as prompted by an official email from Atlassian.

However, I'm stuck because:

  1. The "Switch to Atlassian administration" option is completely missing in my workspace settings.

  2. I have confirmed that my account has administrator privileges for the workspace.

  3. The direct migration URL (/admin/atlassian-admin-migration/prepare) results in a 404 Not Found error.

It seems my workspace is in a special state that prevents the normal connection process. Since I am on a plan that does not allow me to create a direct support ticket, I am requesting help here.

Could someone from the Atlassian team please check the status of the <workspace-id> workspace and help me initiate the connection process?

Thank you.

Hi @jhcaution and welcome to the community!

Can you please clarify where you read about an option called "Switch to Atlassian administration"? Perhaps I am missing something, but such an option doesn't exist in the workspace's settings. I also don't see it mentioned in the emails we sent to your email address about linking your workspace.

The steps you need to follow to link your Bitbucket workspace with your Atlassian organization are listed in this community article:

Look for the steps under the heading "If you are a Bitbucket workspace admin and an Atlassian organization admin", assuming you want to connect the workspace to the Atlassian organization you are an admin of.

With regards to Step 3, please keep in mind that the option Apps may be named Products. If you don't see an option Apps on the top navigation bar, select the option Products from the same bar.

If you face any issues following these steps, please explain in which step you are stuck and what kind of error or issue you are running into.

Please keep in mind that at this time, you will still need to administer users, groups, and access for the linked workspace in Bitbucket. User administration in the Atlassian organization is a feature that will come at a later time.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Just a heads up, I removed the workspace ID from your post to protect your privacy.

Kind regards,
Theodora

I received the URL you posted via email, and I tried to follow it to connect my Bitbucket workspace with an Atlassian organization.

While following the steps, I couldn’t locate the Apps menu mentioned in the instructions.
When I asked ChatGPT, it suggested looking for an option called "Switch to Atlassian administration", which ended up taking me in a slightly different direction than I had expected.

I appreciate the advice to use the Products menu instead of Apps.

If the guide had mentioned more clearly that the menu might be labeled Products instead of Apps, it might have helped me avoid the confusion.

Looking back, I realize I could have resolved the issue sooner if I had checked those comments more carefully from the beginning.

It may also help other users if the guide included screenshots, similar to the ones posted by commenters like furkan_eryilmaz and Yana. I think that would make the process of adding an organization much easier.

Thank you again for providing the link and guidance — I really appreciate your help.
