Want to Auto Merge the branch in private repo using Cloud Build Pipeline.

I'm currently working on automating the process of merging specific branches into a protected branch in a private Bitbucket repository, utilizing Google Cloud Build.

We want to set up a system where certain branches (for example, those prefixed with auto-merge/) can be automatically merged into a target branch (like develop) after passing all required status checks and meeting specific criteria we set.

Our deployment and automation pipelines are managed through Google Cloud Build.

1. Is there a recommended approach or best practices for setting up such an automated merge system in Bitbucket, considering our branch protection rules?
2. Can Bitbucket Pipelines be used to achieve this? If so, could you provide examples or guidance on how to set this up?
3. Are there any third-party tools or scripts that integrate well with Bitbucket for automating merge processes while ensuring compliance with branch protection rules?
