Are formula/derived columns going to be added to Confluence Database?

Patrick.Braga-Henebry July 9, 2025

As of today there are zero posted roadmap items for Confluence Database.

  • Is there any work planned at all for the database feature?
  • Specifically, I'd love to see simple date calculation (days between two dates) but overall formula support would be great to see.

The feature is a nice start, but has some clear areas to address to better support common use cases.

Hi @Patrick.Braga-Henebry welcome to the community!  I found CONFCLOUD-78078 on Atlassian's Jira Site.  I think that's what you're looking for.  I would suggest voting for and watching it for updates.  My vote for it has been added.

Feel free to add a comment on what you'd like as well.

Hope that helps.

@Patrick.Braga-Henebry Confluence Database is not a replacement for spreadsheets, at least not in its current implementation. There are community members asking for formulas regularly, but nothing happened on this front yet.

At the same time, there are multiple Confluence apps that offer spreadsheet functionality. You may want to check those.

Thanks for the info. I'm not that interested in full spreadsheets, but they've clearly already made column-level calculations, so row-level references and calculations would be nice too. Arbitrary references are likely nice somehow but can understand they make the product likely much more unwieldy and not very database-centric.
