Can a Google Group be granted access to Confluence (and by extension automatically license users)?

Good Morning,

I'm trying to see if its possible to grant a Google Group (distribution list) access to Confluence, rather than individually grant each member of the distribution list a license?

Is this possible, or would I need to essentially recreate the Google Group as a group within Atlassian and assign the users, etc.

If that is the case, is there anyway to automatically update the Atlassian group based on changes to the Google group?
