Confluence Cloud vs. Server / copy and paste, browser, ... what other differences?

Brian Catanzaro April 14, 2018

I used Confluence at a client's place.  Now I've set up Confluence Cloud and am trying to get up and running.

Copy and Paste

  • Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste text.  Why doesn't this work?
  • Even the right mouse button won't allow me to copy / paste

Browser Preference

  • It used to work fine at my client's with Firefox.
  • Cloud doesn't seem to work very well with Firefox (lot's of hangs, lost edits, ...)
  • I'm using Explorer (Win 7 / 64-bit).  Is that the reason for the copy / paste issue?

Hi @Brian Catanzaro

I'm using Confluence Cloud chrome and ctrl+c and ctrl+v works for me, right mouse button as well.  Maybe this is something on your own machine.

I have seen this issue before like here:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Questions/Copy-paste-doesn-t-work-in-Confluence/qaq-p/440817

Maybe it's a plugin that is prohibiting your copy and paste?

Atlassian supports Firefox according to this:  https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/supported-browsers-744721663.html

Maybe this is also related to an add-on that you have installed.  I would start running through the documentation for your add-ons and seeing if Firefox is supported in all.

Some of the other main differences between cloud and server are here:
