I cannot find where to edit the CSS stylesheet for my space.
This article came up in Google and is totally outdated.

The stylesheet cannot be found there anymore.
On Atlassian Cloud, Confluence uses a custom theme that can't be modified or updated using custom HTML or CSS. For more information on custom themes in Confluence Cloud, refer to Working with Themes (see link below)

There is a feature request open for this (sadly for many years now). You can add your vote to it.
How are the theme creators able to modify the CSS?
For example, make the general background of page "gray" and make the content/article div area have white background and a border around the content area.
