Editing a variable value after using template to create a page

I successfully create a template and used variables as part of it. When I would like to create a page from the template, I am prompted to enter the variable values and then I can create the page and the variable values are populated. However, is there anyway to edit/update the variable values after clicking on "create" i.e., in page edit mode? From my experience while in edit mode, the variable placeholders disappear and I can no longer interact with the variables e.g., choose another value from the dropdown list.

@Amelia Fraczkowski Once you set the variables and create the page, the variables no longer exist—the page is independent of the template at this point.

There may be a 3rd-party app that would allow you to do this or some other method of handling the data in the page, rather than by using template variables.
