Edits that I used to be able to do now make the editor freeze and won't allow me to save.

Rachel Hyde October 27, 2016

Styling and macro edits that the app has borne in the past: changing the color of panels, changing column widths, adding styling to divs, are now making the editor freeze in almost every instance and it won't save. If I open another tab and resume editing and close the previous tab unsaved, the problem persists. I first noticed this last week when trying to edit a table inside a div, and now it seems to be true for any of the above type of changes, regardless of what page I'm editing. I'm on my company's cloud version of Confluence, working on the space for my team, and I don't think my current user permissions sets me up to be able to do upgrades or plugins.

Based on the comment above, I tried making the changes in the editor in Chrome instead of Firefox and it worked! I don't know why I was having such difficulty in Firefox, but I was. OK in chrome now.

For anyone who comes across this question in the near future: I'm also having problems with editing using Firefox (specifically the Page Properties Report macro errors when being created or edited), but no problems in Chrome.  This has only happened since Firefox 49.0.2.  Atlassian are looking into it for me, but right now, end of October 2016, if you're getting editing problems your first action should be to try it Chrome instead.

I've been using it in Firefox and hadn't even thought to try another browser. Because of this comment, I tried it in Chrome and it allowed me to make all the edits that haven't been working! Thank you very much!

Only Atlassian handle add-ons and upgrades.

Could you test it in a different browser?   If that does not work as well, it's a useful test as it tells us it's Confluence rather than the browser, but the next step is then to go to the logs, and for that, you need to hand over to https://support.atlassian.com
