Hi,
The Confluence space permissions are not clear to me in the space > access > groups chart.
I've read https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/assign-space-permissions/ but it's still not clear to me.
What I want:
groupA needs to have read/write permissions on the spaceY
then when user1 (for example) creates a page he/she needs to be the only one that has edit/write permissions to that page. Not the other members of groupA even though they have write/edit permissions through the space permissions (via groupA).
Is it possible and how do I set it up, which checkboxes need to be enabled and which not?
And no we don't want to set permissions/sharing on each individual page separately.
Thanks
@Ronald van Sleeuwen You should keep the following in mind (from this page https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/add-or-remove-page-restrictions/):
How inherited restrictions work
If someone can’t view a parent content item, they won’t be able to view any child content items under it. In this sense, a view restriction has been added to the parent item that inherits down to all content items nested under it, without exception.
Editing doesn’t work this way. Even if someone is restricted from editing a parent item, they won’t automatically be restricted from editing the child content.
However, if someone is restricted from editing at the space level, they will be restricted from editing any and all content in that space.
This means that you can grant view permissions at a higher level to affect all users, but you need to add editing restrictions on the page itself. I don't think there is a way around this. (Note that you can also revoke viewing permissions on an individual page, which will cascade down to its child pages.)
@Ronald van Sleeuwen
If “creator-only edit” is critical and manual page restrictions are not desirable, Confluence Cloud’s built-in functionality cannot meet this use case solely through space access/group permissions. You’ll need to set page restrictions each time a page is created
You can get more information in below KB artcile https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/assign-space-permissions/

Thank Jayesh for your reply.
I´m trying my luck with the share function (click the 3 dots with lock icon) as a workaround, so for example if I have a structure with folders :
rootfolder > subfolderA > subsubA1 > page1
> subfolderB > subsubB1
etc.
then grant groupX on rootfolder view permissions and these are then inherited to the subfolders and pages.
But this needs some thinking on the structure and if you want to grant write permissions than it can get bit hard to manage is my guess.
Anyone any experience with this setup?
