How can I make a persistent sort order of the Contents Report Table

I run into this annoying problem where I define the sort order of child pages under a master page in the navigation. However, this order is not maintained when I list them using a Contents Report Table by label. The sort order always defaults to the page with the newest updates on top. 

 

This order does not really work for a user when the intended sort order of the pages must follow a certain sequence for a tutorial. 

 

Are there any solutions or workarounds to this issue? Or am I missing something?
