Hello, I have this question, I should migrate some pages from one confluence instances to another.

I could make this operation via export (xml or csv) but I was wondering if I could use Confluence Migrate Assistant to migrate just some pages of a space to the new instance.

Or maybe if there are some best practices about migration of many pages but not the entire space.

Are we talking Cloud to Cloud or Server to Cloud?

In CCMA, You can only choose certain spaces, but not single pages. However: you could copy/move the pages in a designated space and then migrate that space only.

Is it Jira or Confluence? You mention Jira in the heading but Confluence in the body of the question and in your tags :)

I'm going with Confluence Cloud then...

In the Space Export settings, you can select Custom export and it allows you to select which pages you want to include in your XML. The choice is yours...

thank you for notifying me of the error in the summary, however best solution for me is move/copy interested pages in one temporary space and migrate just that space to another instance

@Stefano Colagiacomo You can also publish the page to the other space, as described in https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/create-edit-and-publish-a-page/#Publish--amp--Update

It doesn't specify whether the Location you specify when you publish has to be in the same instance, so I'm not sure whether this will work.

Hello @Stefano Colagiacomo
hope you are well!

There are 3 options to migrate some pages of one space to another Confluence instance:

Migrating specific pages from one space to another in a Jira Cloud instance involves several steps and considerations. As far as I know I can suggest 3 options:

Option 1: Manual Copy-Paste

This is the simplest method but can be time-consuming for a large number of pages.

  1. Open the Source Page: In the source Jira instance, open the page you want to migrate.
  2. Copy Content: Manually copy the content.
  3. Create New Page in Target: In the target Jira instance, create a new page in the desired space.
  4. Paste Content: Paste the copied content into the new page.

Option 2: Using an App or Add-on

Several third-party apps are available for Jira that can help with migrations. Look for one that supports page-specific migrations.

  1. Choose an App: Select a migration app like Project Configurator, Configuration Manager for Jira, or another that fits your needs.
  2. Configure the App: Set up the app according to your specific requirements, specifying only the pages you wish to migrate.
  3. Test the Migration: If possible, test the migration on a non-production instance to ensure everything moves over correctly.

Option 3: Export and Import (Confluence Integration)

If you're also using Confluence alongside Jira, you might be able to use its features.

  1. Export Pages: Use Confluence's space export feature to export the pages (you might have to export a whole space and then edit the files).
  2. Import to Target: Use Confluence's space import feature to import the pruned export into the new Jira instance's linked Confluence space.

I hope this helped.
