Look to alphabetically organize a folder within my space. All guides are outdated and looking for some help.

Pages within a space don’t automatically sort alphabetically by default, but you can manage this using the Page Tree macro on a parent page, which can be configured to sort pages alphabetically, or by manually organizing pages in the Space Sidebar to keep a consistent order. If you want a fully automated solution, some teams use add-ons from the Atlassian Marketplace, since Confluence doesn’t offer a global default sort.

Confluence doesn’t use traditional folders, but can organize pages under a parent page and then use the Children Display macro to list them alphabetically.

  • Edit your parent page.
  • Insert the Children Display macro.
    • In the macro settings:
    • Set Sort by = Title
    • Choose Ascending for alphabetical order

This will display all child pages (your “folder contents”) in A–Z order automatically.
