How do you make a comment anonymous?

I recently received an anonymous comment and it caught us all surprised!  Our configuration is definitely no anonymous users allowed. 

I read the questions raised to community but understand that it cannot be done. 

How is it then that I get such a message in my email of a comment from "Anonymous"? See screenshot in comment section
