How to pull jira version data into confluence?

In confluence how can i pull release information in from jira?

There is a jira issue macro and a jira chart macro, but i cannot see an ability to pull jira version data into confluence?

Thank you for contacting us!

The Jira Issues Macro does provide the ability to display information in Confluence based on specific fields, or a JQL query. Do you have a JQL filter you've created in order to display the information you need? You could then use this in your Jira Issues Macro.

See the section titled Displaying issues via a Jira Query Language (JQL) search for more details on how to do that if you aren't sure.

If you've already tried this and it doesn't solve your issue, can you let me know what feature you're missing and I can try to find an alternative?

Thank you for getting back to me.

Yes we already use JQL searches to list issues of epics in confluence, but this is not what we need.

In jira you create a version, the version could be:

version 2.1.0

release date: 15/06/2019

release date: 20/06/2019

name: release abc

I want to fetch this release/version data from jira, not the issues themselves. How is this possible?

Could you tell me a bit more about what you need to accomplish specifically with this release information? If I know more about what you're trying to do with the information exactly, then I could recommend a solution for you.

I want that version data in confluence.

We need it for better visibility for our consultants and clients for planned released etc etc,

Currently, this release and start data is locked in jira, one has to manually copy it over. When a release date changes, it must change in 2 places.

Thank you for clarifying that.

I believe in that case you might be able to use the Jira Report Blueprint. This is the one thing I can think of within Confluence that you could use to display your version information.

Please keep in mind that any information in Jira, unless it's open to anonymous users (general public) then your users in Confluence won't be able to see it unless they also have a Jira license.

Hi @Shannon S  - I'm looking to do something very similar to what @john_carmichael described originally - i.e. pulling version metadata (release status, dates) into Confluence.

It appears that the Jira Report Blueprint isn't available on the Cloud editions of Jira/Confluence - is there an approach you can recommend that will work with the Cloud Editions? 

[John, I'd love to hear if you managed to solve this in some other way, too!]
