How to restrict user to a particular page in a Space

In Confluence, we need to restrict a user to a particular page (we even have few pages under that page and those child pages must also be accessible to the user). Apart from that no other page in the Space should be accessed by them.

We thought of using the restrictions option (restict_ion.jfifbut it must be applied to other pages, by restricting the above user to view the page.

Any other idea will be appreciable.

Thanks for your suggestion in advance.

Regards,

Sravan

Hi Sravan,

You can restrict someone in the restrictions option only. You will get three options inside it:

  • No restrictions
  • Editing restrictions
  • Viewing and editing restrictions

You can create restriction rules based on your requirements.ss.png

@Sravan Indukur  just to make sure you are clear, to do what you want to do, your user must:

  • Be given permission to view the space under space permissions.
  • The page tree you want your user to view, must start a root. This page tree becomes your more or less "public" view.
  • All other page trees need to have restrictions set to allow all other users to view those page trees except the one user in question (this is best handled by segregating users into groups, one for general users, and one for the restricted users -- doing this now will greatly simplify your life later).

This is a PITA to administrate, especially as the number of page trees in your space grows.

but by doing that we need to restrict other pages, which mean if i want to add any user to the other pages in future means, I must add that person to that group (the group to which i add in restrict option to view, or edit) also. Now I'm in the organisation, and i will do the necessary changes till I be here, in future someone will come and how will they know about the changes.
