How to specify the date format in the date field type in Confluence Database please?
I tried to configure time and date formats with the General Configuration:
https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/configure-time-and-date-formats/
However, it still did not change the date format in the Confluence Database Date column.
For example, in the current database I am working on, it the date as
Jun 22, 2025
(MMM dd, YYYY)
I want it as
22 Jun, 2025
(dd MMM, YYYY)
How do I set this please in Confluence Database?
Hi @Colin Sheppard ,
This is (apparently) not yet supported.
There's an open feature request for it: CONFCLOUD-79687: Ability to set custom date/datetime format on the database fields
I can see how this is not such a good end-user experience. We also write days before months when looking at dates. 👀
Anyway, I'd suggest leaving a vote and starting to watch this suggestion. Also, you can leave a comment related to your requirement.
Cheers,
Tobi
Actually, I've just tested this, if you would navigate to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/account-preferences and change language from, let's say, English (US) to English (UK), this would 'switch' months and days in the date formats (across Atlassian products; only for you). 👈
Again, this is a personal setting and I'm not sure if you can somehow set it 'globally' on the whole Confluence instance.

I am seeking this capability too. I am also surprised given Atlassian is an Australian Company (originally) that it was not included since the initial release of the feature.
I added my vote.

@Colin Sheppard yeah, might be implemented a bit better, but a note—databases were actually a Marketplace addon which Atlassian acquired back in 2023 and there have been some improvements and tweaks compared to the initial app.
More on that (and acquisition) here: The impossible is now possible with teamwork and Confluence’s latest features
