I am using Include Excerpt to host an image used on many pages of my site so if it needs to be updated we can update it once and it will update across the whole site.
This functionality is working well, but there is a bug. After the Include Excerpt macro is added (I turn off surrounding panel) the macro disappears in the editor, but when you save the page it works properly and displays as it should. This can make editing the rest of the page difficult as there is an invisible chunk in the middle of the page that can't be seen.
Edit: Confluence won't let me report a bug so I'm publishing this in the community.
Hi Jacob,
Welcome to Atlassian Community! It's nice to have you join us.
Do you have this problem with the new editor or the legacy editor template? Could you show us an example of how this looks in a screenshot? Then, I can use that information to help determine which bug is causing this problem.
By the way, since your site is on a Standard plan, your site admin can report bugs directly to the Cloud Support team. So, if you encounter anything like this in the future, I recommend informing your admin so they can raise a ticket.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Shannon
Sure, see screenshots attached.
Let me know if anything is unclear. I tried to annotate them to clarify points while also redacting the actual content.

Hi Jacob,
Thank you for the images!
Do you have this problem with the new editor or the legacy editor template? Which editor does the source page use?
Take care,
Shannon

Also, it looks like on of my screenshots didn't upload, but the Excerpt Macro is visible, it's just the "excerpt include" macro that becomes invisible after the initial publishing of the page.

Hi Jacob,
Thank you for your reply. I replicated the issue, and I reported it in the bug below:
When I have some text in the original excerpt, I noticed the image is as wide as the text. It's bizarre. Thank you for reporting this.
I also discovered while testing the issue that captions do not display in the excerpt. So in case you saw the same thing, there's a bug for that:
Thank you again and take care,
Shannon
