×Is it possible to prevent the 'Excerpt include' macro from inserting hard returns before and after the macro?
For example, this is the 'Excerpt' macro I set up:
And, on another page, I've used the 'Excerpt include' macro to insert my original excerpt (I've also ticked 'Remove surrounding panel'). In the edit mode, the macro displays inline:
However, when I publish the page, a hard return is inserted before and after the 'Excerpt include' macro, so it appears on its own line:
I would like the published page to appear the same as it does in 'Edit mode' (i.e. the 'included' macro should appear inline with the rest of the text, and not have the hard returns). The line breaks make it hard to read and it doesn't look great.
Does anyone know how prevent 'excerpt include' from adding hard returns. Or are there any other approaches (that don't require a paid add-on) to take content from one page and insert it, inline, into another page?
In sever the 'Excerpt include' macro displays inline, so the change in behaviour in the Cloud version of this macro has felt like a backwards step.
I've already voted for CONFCLOUD-74427 , but it doesn't seem to have much traction, so I'm wondering if the community might have some more help?
@CJ,
I don't think there is a way to do this.. I tried even using one the source code editing plugins and could not get it to work. If that ticket you linked does not have any workarounds listed, it's likely that there are not any!
Thanks,
Kian
Thanks Kian. No workaround is listed, unfortunately. I've just decided to stop using this macro if I want it to display inline.
