Making a (Hand)book with existing Pages in Confluence?

Dear, I'm new to confluence and look for a specific function I know from other Wikis. I want to combine some (already existing) Pages together for a handbook but I don't know a 'Book' functionality in Confluence. Is there something like that in Confluence? ~Jessi

Hello Jessica, we do have our own docs exported in PDF here under the item "Latest versions of downloadable documentation". You can accomplish similar results by going to Tools > Export to PDF, full documentation about that can be found after this link.

I don't think of a handbook as a printable PDF, but more a an online-document within the wiki. Abstractly you can say like putting an second structure to the Pages, apart from the normal hierarchy.

Indeed I think this Export-functionality is quite what I thought of. But is there also a possibility to export documents from different spaces together?

Hi Jessica, you can export multiple pages from a given space, and so on for different spaces, as described below.

To export a space or selected pages to PDF:

1. Go to the space and choose Space tools > Content Tools on the sidebar.
2. Choose Export. This option will only be visible if you have the 'Export Space' permission.
3. Select PDF then choose Next
4. Decide whether you need to customise the export:
   • Select Normal Export to produce a PDF file containing all the pages that you have permission to view.
   • Select Custom Export if you want to export a subset of pages.
5. Select the pages you want to export.
   • You have the option to Select All or Deselect All pages.
   • When you select a page, all its child pages will also be selected. Similarly, when you deselect a page all its child pages will also be deselected.
6. Choose Export.
7. When the export process has finished, download and save the PDF file as prompted.

If your space uses the Documentation theme:

1. ChooseBrowse>Space Operations
2. Choose PDF Export from the left menu.
3. Follow the steps above to export the Space.

If you need further information, you can refer to our documentation. Further to this, there are add ons such as Scroll PDF Exporter that can perform exports by label.

Yeah I see, but it is only possible within one space? Is there a method to put Documents from different spaces together in one PDF?

That is correct, I believe that if you use the Scroll PDF Exporter add on you can agregate content using content labels.

The only difference if you're using Confluence Cloud is that "Space tools" has been renamed to "Space Settings".

Jessica, I don't fully understand what you're looking for. But if you're looking to combine some existing pages together into one page you could use the include page macro or the excerpt include macro to embed the entire content of one page (or just an excerpt of that page) into another.
