There is link 'Calendar' in team's space sidebar. it is an advertising link to prompt us to sign up to use calendar. We are not interested in using calendar, now or in future. I cannot find any way to remove this annoyance. Can you please remove this.

Hi,

we have the same issue in our instance.

I have opened a ticket with the support team. They confirmed that this is an experiment to help people discover more features. The support offered me to deactivate the "feature".

The issue will only affect the free and standard plan. In the premium plan calendars are included and can be turned off as described above.

Mind-foggin-blowing. Create a support ticket to remove pointless adverts !?!?  What is becoming of Atlassian ...
Ok - I'll also create a support ticket for this ridiculousness.

Hi Rick, you may want to ask the space admin of the team space to edit the Sidebar in the space settings under:

  • Space settings > Manage space > Space details.
  • In Space details go to Edit sidebar tab.
  • Disable Calendars.

Hope I got your request right and this heps.

Best,

Heike

Hello Heike, "Calendars' is not listed on the Edit sidebar page , only 'Overview', 'Blogs' and 'Whiteboard' are present

Hello Rick, sorry. I can see from the screenshots that there are odd things going on. Never saw this in Confluence Cloud Premium.

We can turn off and on the Calendar feature for each space separately.

Are you in a Demo/Sandbox mode oder do you use Confluence Cloud Standard?

our company has been putting up with using Jira for almost a decade. we needed a wiki solution so thought to turn on confluence, this is the result.

This seems to have been fixed.

We have Confluence Cloud Standard edition and you can turn off both Calendar and Automation (which is also and advert for Premium) in Space settings > Manage space > Space details.

I agree, Atlassian is putting a publicity on the sidebar for their Calendar which is only available on Premium offer. Very annoying.

No way to disable it, the sidebar configuration (see capture, in french) does not display anything related to this new calendar link.

And when you enter the link (see capture, again in french), it will only display a publicity!!!Capture d’écran, le 2023-08-02 à 12.24.36.png

Hi Rick, on my Confluence site, I'm not seeing a 'Calendar' link.  I'm not sure if this is coming from Confluence or not.  You may want to contact support (support.atlassian.com) if you think this is coming from Atlassian's software and they should be able to steer you in the right direction.  ,

Hello Dan, my major distress is - here we decide to turn on this Confluence service, we're paying for this. It starts up oddly, with an advert link for another Atlas... service called Calendars. We're not paying to Atlas... so that they can annoy us with links to pay yet more.  And now place a support call - its just too much aggravation and frustration, we might as well just dump this entirely if this is the way its going to go.
Sorry for the negativity but I've just about given up.

So what happens next?  Do I create a jira ticket for this with Atlassian? Are there any Atlassians even monitoring this forum?

Hello @Rick Piovesan

PM here at Atlassian. We have disabled this experience.

For context, this was an experiment we ran with the goal of providing more visibility and helping users discover collaboration features that are suitable for large organizations. We heard all of your feedback and are working to improve the experience! Thank you!
