Allowing users to edit a child page but not a parent page and overall Space

Susan Lin September 8, 2020

Hi - I have a space that's visible to everyone but not editable, however I would like to make a subpage in that space editable to a few people but I do not want them to be able to edit the pages above it. How do I do this?

Thanks

Susan

Dear Susan,

natively it is not possible. In case the user does not have an edit permission on the space level you can’t add it on the page level as Bill already said.

Missing edit permissions on parent pages are no problem however as page edit permissions are not inherited to child pages (only view permissions are inherited).

Kind regards

Andreas

I don't think that is possible. Permissions in Confluence are inherited, so top-level pages inherit permissions from the space, and child pages inherit permissions from their parents. In other words, you cannot grant permissions that are greater than a pages parent/space.
