Hi,

I am trying to test Confluence wiki. I installed a Windows version and after the installation when I try to access confluence on my local machine I get an error. The cause is:

java.lang.IllegalStateException: No internal directory found. Should have already been created in the previous step.
at com.atlassian.confluence.setup.actions.ConnectToJiraSyncDirectoryAction.getInternalDirectoryId(ConnectToJiraSyncDirectoryAction.java:89)

Uninstall and install did not solve the problem.

How can I get assistance? I am testing for a large company.

Thanks,

Rakefet

Hi Rakefet,

The provided stack trace seems to indicate that Confluence is having trouble when it tried to integrate with JIRA user management since Internal directory is no created yet.

This might be cause by interruption during the installation process. However, since this is a new installation of Confluence, the easiest way is to start from scratch.

To do this, you need to drop the current database and delete HOME directory content. Afterwards, just restart Confluence and it would run the installation from scratch.

Hope this helps.

I re-installed Confluence and it worked.

Hi all, I face the same issue. I have JIRA running in port 8090 and run Confluence in 8070. I got the setup page, tried for online evaluation key. I got the key and when I click the evaluation version, it throws the same error.

I tried the solution given by Vicky but dint work out. please help

Hi Rakefet, thanks for submitting a support ticket. To recap what I wrote there, I recommend following Vicky's advice, but instead of managing users through JIRA do it from within Confluence. Then you can log in after installation is complete and modify your user directories.

Looks like the user directory stuff is not set up. You'll need to read your log to find out why, but examine what you'v eset up first (e.g. are you just running it standalone, or have you attempted an Active Directory or Crowd setup?)
