Would like to know if it's possible to create diagram (eg. work flow charts) on Confluence itself:
- without having to link to Gliffy/Lucid chart etc.
- want to have a dynamic chart, meaning that i can edit the diagram in Confluence itself, but not in a third party app
- enable clicking on the diagram and linking each piece to another page/location
Thanks!
Hi Janice,
I use the draw.io add-on for Confluence Cloud. It's inexpensive and it allows us to create flow diagrams etc. from within the Confluence page itself. Although bear in mind that when you Edit the Confluence page, you then Edit the diagram and that opens up the draw.io editor in your browser. But it all integrates well. Plus we have successfully linked parts of the diagrams to other Confluence pages.
We use Confluence for our ISO 9001 Quality Management System, so we have lots of process diagrams that then link out to supporting pages.
I've not tried the other suggestions. As the pricing for Cloud add-ons is per user of the Cloud instance and not per editing user of the add-on, we always look at the most inexpensive option first to see if it works. draw.io does what we need, so we continue to use it.
As far as possible we try to use Confluence out of the box and avoid add-ons, but editable diagramming does need an add-on from the marketplace.

Hi Janice,
you can do the same with Lucidchart, there is also a on premise version you can install in confluence server. You don't need extra Lucidchart users and no connections to Lucidchart in the cloud. This simplifies on- and offboarding big time. Versioning works perfect, linking from Lucidchart elements to confluence pages also.
The same with the Viadee BPMN Modeler. There is a free version and a enterprise solution. The latter is in combination with confluence a real cute tool for documenting your companies business processes.
I am using both tools in confluence - and do not work for either company :-)

Hi Janice,
It's your lucky day! This is 100% possible. Gliffy is built directly into Confluence through our marketplace app. It is 3 quick steps to creating a diagram and the best part is it lives directly in your confluence page. This means, you can edit, share across pages, and store all your diagrams in Confluence.
You can check out Gliffy Diagram for Confluence in the Atlassian Marketplace here. Watch the video for a quick demo on how you access diagrams in Confluence. on Let me know if you have any questions.
