×Hello,
I am new to Confluence and have a question for the more experienced users.
We have a Confluence instance that uses an Active Directory for user authentication. It has ticked the option "External user management" in the Security Configuration menu so no new local users can be created.
We need to add a new local user. Is there any issue with un-ticking temporarily the "External user management" option, creating a new local account and then ticking it back?
As far as I can see there is only one local user with a name that is not present in AD.
Will the LDAP server connection need to be setup again or the settings will remain as before?
Thank you for any reply.
To create local user accounts in confluence, please do this:-

Thanks for the head-up about changing the order.
We did create the user and it went without any issue. LDAP settings were preserved and there was no outage.
