Hi,
I am using checkbox + dates in one of my pages's tables.
It seems that even after the checkbox is checked, the past dates turn red.
I recall in a previous version, the dates would turn gray after the checkbox was checked.
Is this no longer a feature or am I doing something wrong?
(A quick note, the first time I click the checkbox, the dates go gray - but after refreshing the page, they turn back to being red)

You’re not doing anything wrong — what you’re seeing is actually a known issue in Confluence itself. In the past, once you checked the box, the past dates turned gray as expected. But right now, after refreshing the page, Confluence redraws those past dates as overdue (red), even if the checkbox is ticked.
So it’s not related to your setup, but rather to the way Confluence is currently handling the date styling logic. Hopefully Atlassian will restore the previous behavior, where completed items stayed gray.
If it helps, you can confirm that this happens even outside of apps/tables, so it’s not something you can fix on your end.

This problem seems to have been fixed. I and several of our users noticed today that past completed task dates are no longer in red. Yay!

Seeking a resolution for this same issue! I've used Confluence checklists for years for various recurring monthly and annual program checklists. This has rendered my pages useless, confusing, wrong, and/or stressful.
It's disappointing to see lists of tasks that I know I've completed, but the red dates all jump out at me as if these are overdue tasks. Previously, the functionality worked the same way for years, that if the task is marked complete, the date is gray.
I would prefer not to delete all the dates out of checklists, because the date relationships are important and this makes it quick to update schedules when we copy pages. I'd also prefer not to remove the // date formatting, because it saves time updating schedules when the dates are easily visible and consistently formatted.
I opened the ticket @Thiago P _Atlassian Support_ shared, but I don't see how to watch or join it. Any idea if this bug will be resolved in the near future?

Hi @Jessica Johnson 503.747.9443 ,
Sorry to hear that, and I totally agree the red color is indeed frustrating.
The Bug is currently listed as "Long Term Backlog", which means our Dev Team is not currently prioritizing it for implementation but it's in their plans to eventually get to it.
