How come changing space permissions fails

Greg Smith July 8, 2015

I am the administrator.  I'm trying to add an individual user permission for a space.  It fails the error:

"your request could not be processed because a required security token was not present in the request.  You may need to re-submit the form or reload the page"

Of course reloading the page changes nothing.  Now I have made a normal user only have the ability to view because of the defaults it assigned.  I can see no way to remove the persons name from the individual list.

Hey Greg and Jonathan,

I believe you are running into this bug https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-38218. For now, the workaround is to use a different browser.

Hi,

I am running into this same issue.  But, it is happening in both Chrome and IE, not just IE.  In Chrome, I don't necessarily receive the error, the page just freezes.  In IE, when page freezes and I click inside, then I'm prompted to stop a script and the error appears.

This just started happening today in our cloud instance that we've been running for a few years.  And, it is happening across users in multiple spaces, not just one machine and/or one space.

Thanks,
Don

I have exactly the same problem at an admin level and clearng cache in the browser makes no difference. This is a problem when using IE11 but not Chrome.

Hi, Greg.

This seems to me either some problem in the caches in your browser or a some bug. There is a bug similar to that here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-36112 (though not the same thing).

I advise you to try in a different browser and see if the problem persists. If you still have this problem, please contact Atlassian Support for further help.
