How do you skip paragraphs in a numbered list?

GS August 29, 2025

I have a list of numbered instructions. Under one of them, I have a set of bullet points. How do I get the numbers to continue (not reset) after the bulleted paragraphs?

Hi @GS CONFCLOUD-70868 is an open work item to allow this functionality with numbered lists.

I would recommend voting for and watching it for updates.

Sometimes I can mess around with the list to add the needed numbers and go back and then move in my images or my other text and the numbering will stay in order how I want it.

Hope that helps.

@GS If you are only inserting bullets paragraphs, the numbering should not be interrupted.

  1. Insert numbered list item, type text, and press Enter. The next step automatically is numbered 2 (or whatever number you're on).
  2. Press Tab to indent—you automatically get a paragraph numbered with a.
  3. Change this level of the list from a numbered list to a bulleted list.
  4. Enter as many bulleted paragraphs as needed.
  5. Press Enter after the last bulleted paragraph. You automatically get another bulleted paragraph.
  6. Press Shift+Tab to outdent the list. It automatically picks up with the next number in the list.

Thanks! I'll try to remember that next time.
