How to get articles to match the page tree

We are setting up How To Articles and we have set up a page tree with parent and children folders.  However, when we click on a branch that shows specific children on the page tree, this isn't always what is displaced on the right side - main page.   What do we need to do in order to make the How To Articles that are listed as the children be the only items also displayed on the right side, main screen of the folder selected?

Hi Michael, do you mean the page tree on the sidebar or the macro page tree?
