How to improve Confluence page load with many gliffy diagrams?

We use Gliffy for Confluence extensively and have some pages that have many gliffy diagrams on a single confluence page.  Coincidentally those pages that have many gliffy diagrams (5+) are very slow to load?

It appears that pages that are loading slowly are using the gxml instead of png, as we can see the gliffy being rendered as object by object within the gliffy.

How do we ensure the png is used instead of gxml for displaying of page? Or is there a setting that we can change that helps these pages load faster?

Hi Julio,

You can get faster page loads by disabling the Gliffy HTML5 viewer, which will force diagrams to render as PNG images in Confluence. To do this, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of Confluence, and click "Add-ons". Then on the left side of the page navigate to the "Gliffy Plugin" section, click "Configuration", and then check the "Disable HTML5 Viewer" box. Note that this will disable some of the interactive functions that the HTML5 viewer facilitates.

We are on Confluence 5.9.12 and Gliffy 6.8.8 and have the same Issue.

With this Option activated, the page is now diplayed normally in IE and the page can be edited again.

I hope on Confluence 6 this will be better.

We are now on Confluence 5.8.18 and Gliffy 6.9.1, but still this issue exists

Does anyone know a better workaround then disabling the HTML5 viewer globally?

Thanks Mike for the response, I made the changes and noticed maybe a slight improvement. Then we recently upgraded to Gliffy 6.3.2 and noticed a substantial improvement so likely some of the slowness when viewing pages with many or large diagrams was fixed in that release.
