Hi Atlassian Community,
We are using Confluence - cloud in combination with 2 add-ons, Balsamiq and Lucid-Chart. Balsamiq creates attachments to a page, Lucid-Chart doesn't, the diagrams are integrated in the page.
As we have moved on to other tooling for mock-ups and diagrams, we want to stop using both add-ons, but we will continue using Confluence.
What I can't figure out is:
- if we cancel Balsamiq and Lucid-Chart, will the mock-ups and diagrams we created in confluence still be visible, or no longer accessible?
- it doesn't seem possible to search for pages / spaces in which Lucid-Chart is used, so we don't know which spaces to select. For Balsamiq we can find attachments but those seem only to have been creating since updating to Balsamiq 3.
- the best way to back-up all of the add-on content seems to be to export all spaces as PDF, but that is a lot of work if we have to do this for each space separately. Is it possible to export all spaces at once to PDF?
Any answers, or tips on different ways to address this problem are appreciated.
Hi Floor!
Great questions. While I cannot speak for Lucid charts, I can say that your Balsamiq projects should all be saved as attachments on pages (even from our older version). Those files will either be .bmpr (for our modern add-on) or .bmml (for our legacy one).
If you cancel your subscription, those wireframes will still be viewable as long as you don't delete the Balsamiq Macro that is on the page. You won't be able to edit them, but they will be viewable.
You can also export those pages to PDF - our wireframes will show up on those, too :).
Let me know if that answers all your questions (from the Balsamiq side), Floor. You can also reach out to us directly at support@balsamiq.com.
Hi Brendan, thanks for answering my questions!
This clarifies what will happen to Balsamiq projects. No further questions for now, my remaining questions now only concern LucidChart and Confluence.
