I have a personal OnDemand confluence instance. My company has purchased Confluence which is being hosted internally to the company. I'd like to export a space in my OnDemand confluence hosted by Atlassian and import it into my new corporate confluence instance. How can I do that?
I see in the confluence documentation that it is possible to go from OnDemand to OnDemand and the universal wiki converter can convert other wikis to Confluence. I've seen the documentation for importing a documentation tree into confluence, but the OnDemand export is not in this format. I don't see any documentation on how to transfer OnDemand content into non-ondemand confluence.
Bob--can you elaborate on step 4? I've done the export (3) earlier but I don't understand how to use that for a restore.

BTW, I've suggested in my support ticket that Atlassian document this use case.

I ended up exporting to xml from OnDemand then doing a restore in Confluence (as you recommend). The hickups where:
1. Needed to copy xml file to server rather than upload it in the restore dialogue as the file was over 100MB.
2. Needed to export entire space in one shot. The restore function does not allow parts of a space to be restored. I had thought I'd get around the 100MB file size limit by restoring in chunks but the second chunk complained that the space already existed. So, the space has to be restored from a single xml export file.

Indeed. The process is really spread across two docs, depending on your approach:
Full Confluence OnDemand export and restore-
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Exporting+wiki+data
AND
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+a+Site
OnDemand Confluence Space export and restore-
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Exporting+Confluence+Pages+and+Spaces+to+XML
AND
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+a+Space
