Hi,
I have a bot in my product which serves as a self serving bot providing with Knowledge Base articles when searched. I would like to integrate my Confluence Knowledge base into the Bot to be able to search article directly into my Bot. Can someone please guide on what all are the possible options to achieve that?
Some Requirements:
1. I should be able to configure specific Spaces of Confluence (I have my internal documentation, external documentation in different spaces) - Should be able to expose only External Documentation. Basically Only Public spaces should be accessible.
2. Search capabilities of Confluence should be achieved
3. Would whole article open in my Bot or clicking on article take me to Confluence page? Or this can be customised?
4. Would I be able to call my Confluence articles and edit them in my product; provided I have the permissions?
Hi Abhilash!
You might be interested in our app Scroll Viewport for Confluence Cloud.
While it doesn't solve all your requirements, it gets pretty close.
With Scroll Viewport you can take the content of specified spaces in your Confluence (in your case your external docs) and transform it into a custom-styled help center. Your help center would look like this example help center or our own company help center.
You can direct your users to your help center via its URL for them to browse and search through the content directly on the site. Or, alternatively, you can embed links to the help center in your product or even use our in-app help feature to call the articles of your help center directly in your product, like this:
Or via your bot.
The only thing that wouldn't be possible (at least not out of the box) is to search for articles directly in your bot. We would recommend to direct your users to the help center site so they can perform their search from there.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Laura
Thanks Laura. the primary ask of my users is the ability to search the content directly on the Bot hence taking them to the help center will not be ideal. Also, I did a bit of research and later found that Confluence provides for both Content and Search APIs which I should be able to use and may be achieve what I am looking for.
Thanks again,
Abhilash
