I am creating a descriptive text for a technical process. Some words and sentences require a more detailed explanation. Is it possible to insert a pop-up window providing additional information for a specific word? If yes how can I do it?
Ideally, the window should be displayed if the user bring the cursor on the selected word.
Hello @Edoardo Zunino and welcome to the Community! I've built a Glossary for our company that utilizes the type of hover / pop-up you're describing but I was only able to do so with an add-on, Brikit Theme Press for Confluence which doesn't seem to be available for Cloud. There are other Marketplace apps you might want to take a look at: Tooltip apps and Glossary apps. I'm not aware of a way to do this with OOB Confluence Cloud. HTH
@Edoardo Zunino, as @Laurie Sciutti suggested, the tooltip feature might be your solution.
You can access it using one of the marketplace apps, e.g:
- Tooltip for Confluence - app specifically for add tooltips
- Content Formatting Macros - a collection of key formatting features that includes a tooltip

Hello Edoardo,
This is Hassen from the support team at Creativas, the Smart Terms marketplace vendor.
Smart Terms supports highlighting terms and displaying detailed explanations within a pop-up window. The highlight pop-up can be configured to appear when hovering or clicking the term. For more details, check out the documentation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the support team. You can also book a demo for an overview of Smart Terms from here.
