Is it safe to rename a group? What happens, if i do?

Hi @Udo Marx ,

One thing worth mentioning is that group renaming only affects items wherever these groups have been hardcoded (e.g. filters/JQLs when it comes to Jira).

Another thing is that renaming of synced groups is currently not possible but is under development. More info can be found here: ACCESS-800: Ability to rename groups after they've synced to the organization from an identity provider.

It’s safe to rename a group. Atlassian checks if the group can be renamed before processing the new name.
