Hi everyone,
I’m new here and I hope this is the right place to ask.
Our team has been moving from Data Center to Cloud this summer, and we noticed that some of the apps we used before don’t offer the same functionality in Cloud.
We’re now trying to find good alternatives for the following:
Has anyone faced the same situation? Any advice or suggestions on Cloud alternatives would be really appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Hi @Marc-André Bouchard, welcome to the Community!
For the Table Enhancer use cases, you might want to take a look at Simple Table for Confluence. It’s a free Confluence Cloud app designed to extend native tables with powerful features like:
Filtering and grouping rows dynamically
Calculated columns (formulas, concatenations, numeric operations)
Aggregations (sum, avg, min, max, etc.)
Easy import of CSV/JSON/EXCEL data
We’re actively collecting feedback from teams migrating from DC and looking to replicate or even simplify their workflows in Cloud. If you have specific use cases in mind, I’d be happy to explore whether Simple Table can cover them and share practical examples.
For Comala Metadata, that’s a different type of functionality, but we’re also working on integrations where Page Properties and metadata-like fields can be rolled up inside Simple Table for reporting.
If you’d like, I can share a couple of scenarios showing how teams use it after migrating.
Best regards,
— Mia Tamm from Simpleasyty
Thank you, @Mia Tamm - Simple Table for Confluence I wasn’t familiar with Simple Table for Confluence and it looks very interesting, especially the filtering, grouping, and dynamic calculations you mentioned. Our team used those features a lot in Data Center, so this could be a great fit.
I’d love to see some of the scenarios you mentioned to better understand how teams are using it after migrating.
Cheers,
Marc

Hey @Marc-André Bouchard ,
Firstly, welcome to the community! 👋
As for alternatives for apps, you might want to check this official page: Cloud alternatives to your Confluence Marketplace Data Center & Server apps
As listed there, instead of Comala, you could probably use Metadata for Confluence by Communardo Products GmbH.
For Table Enhancer, maybe you could check Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence or Advanced Tables for Confluence
However, during the assessment phase, you can also check if some features you use within those apps on DC can be implemented natively, so you don't need additional budget for apps 👀
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tobi

Thanks so much @Tomislav Tobijas, your contributions are always super valuable in the Community, and it’s clear how much effort you put into helping people find the right solutions.
If I may add just a small note: at Simpleasyty, it would mean a lot to us if Simple Table could someday be considered among the table apps you suggest. It’s free, Forge-native, and adds features like filtering, grouping, aggregations, and calculated columns to native Confluence tables.
Of course, I completely understand you share what you feel works best for each situation but as someone active in the ecosystem, it would make us really happy if Simple Table could be on your radar when teams are exploring table solutions in Cloud. 💙

That’s a very good point about checking which features can already be handled natively in Cloud. It might help us avoid adding unnecessary complexity. I’ll make sure to review the official alternatives page as well as the apps you mentioned, like Metadata for Confluence and Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets, to better understand how they could fit.
On a related note, I’d like to ask whether @Stiltsoft support is currently working on a Runs on Atlassian – Zero egress solution, as this is one of the requirements our company is asking for. The same question goes for @Lorenzo Manfredini is there any plan or initiative in place to support this model?
Thanks a lot, @Tomislav Tobijas, for sharing these resources and pointing me in the right direction and thanks as well to Stiltsoft and Communardo for the alternatives you’ve suggested.
Cheers,
Marc

The Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app is being currently migrated to Forge: https://docs.stiltsoft.com/tfac/cloud/faq-security-71860350.html#FAQSecurity-DoestheapprunonForge?
Once the migration is complete (we estimate it as in December), we'll get the Runs on Atlassian badge.
Meanwhile, we have the Security&Compliance Portal https://trust.stiltsoft.com where you can access important security and compliance documents, including the SOC 2 Type I and SOC 2 Type II reports, penetration tests, the latest updates from our bug bounty program, etc.

Hi @Marc-André Bouchard Welcome to the community! Metadata for Confluence is currently working to migrate to the forge. Runs on Altassian will come after that.
also, thanks @Tomislav Tobijas for mentioning our app, the link you shared is very helpful!

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Regarding the Comala Metadata functionality, while there isn't a standalone Cloud version of the Metadata app, we've started integrating many of its key features directly into Comala Document Management Cloud.
At the moment, there are already some available macros such as:
You can also migrate your existing Metadata from Data Center using Comala Document Management.
Our current roadmap includes releasing most of the remaining Metadata macros by October 2025.
If you need help getting started or migrating your metadata setup, feel free to open a support ticket through Appfire's Support Portal - we'll be more than happy to assist.
Hope that helps!
Kind regards,
Oliver

Thanks a lot, @oliver cuesta Your explanation about Comala Document Management Cloud and the macros that are already available is really helpful. Knowing that the roadmap goes until October 2025 also gives us more clarity for planning our transition.
