I want new blog posts from a specific Confluence space to send notifications into a slack channel, but I want to limit the communication that can happen in that channel to keep it clean. I've set posting permissions in the Slack channel, but I am now getting an error message when I try to establish the integration.
Are there certain Slack posting permission settings that inhibit the ability to integrate with a Confluence space?
Hey @Christopher Brown,
Limiting posting permissions in a channel shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure the Confluence bot is in that particular channel by typing the command below:
/invite @Confluence
After that you can try to establish the connection between the channel and the space or page again.
If that doesn't help, please let us know more exactly which error you are facing.
Cheers!
I invited the Confluence bot to the channel, but am getting the same error message. Screenshot below.

From that Error ID I was able to check logs and identify that the Confluence bot is indeed lacking permissions to that channel.
Please, try the following:
These are attempts to fix the missing permission. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do from the Confluence app side.
Cheers!

It's still not working after trying both those.
Are there certain Slack channel settings that would prohibit being able to make the connection? I was able to connect this Confluence space with another channel and it worked, so it must be something about the way the channel is set up.

So, elaborating a bit more on the error, Slack is returning the code cant_invite. It means the bot cannot participate in that channel.
I'm not particularly aware of any configuration that one can apply to regular channels that could cause that.
Is the channel, by any chance, a multi-direct or direct conversation? If the conversation is between a group of users, the App won't be able to join it.
