Hi @kelly.jee

Check the validator of the task issue type, because it seems that the Epic link is marked as a required field.

yes. epic link is mandatory for task creation. if that case , we can only create issue from Jira and can't create issue from confluence instead with using /Jira macro?

Yes you are right! I got confused from the image you pasted, and thought you were on-premise (server/DC). Apologies! Unfortunately you can't make Epic Link to be a required field form the field configuration, and thus appeared in the jira macro.

no worries. any idea on how to resolve this issue? coz we have to make epic as mandatory to ensure users will not miss out to fill this field.

Well.. if the Epic Link is a mandatory field, they have to create the issue from Jira directly. Otherwise, you could

  • create a new text custom field and make this field mandatory (this field will have to take issue keys as values)
  • Make this new custom field mandatory and place it on the create screen
  • Add a validator to ensure that the value entered on this field corresponds to a valid Epic key
  • Add a post function to copy the value of the custom field to the epic link

Something along the above lines.
