Hi,
I want to delete a space that was created by a user that has been disabled. I don't have admin on the space. How can I get admin rights to delete the space?
Hi, I managed to track down a site admin; he added me to the administrators and the site admins group; we reactivated the disabled user; there was an option to log in as that user (impersonate them), which we did, went to the space settings, deleted the space, then logged out as that user; and deactivated the user again.
Issue resolved. Thanks!
That's awesome to know! Seems this workaround was pretty effective to you, this is great!

Hi, Glen! Hope you are doing great! :)
In order to get admin rights in this space, you must be sure you in any group with admin permissions in Confluence (for e.g. the administrators group).
That said, with admin permissions, you should see the "Settings" option at the left Confluence menu on the dashboards. After clicking on it, you will be redirected to the Confluence settings window.
On the left side of this window, you have the "Space Permissions" option. Click on it to access the menu including a list of spaces in your Confluence.
Ok, here we go. You can see a "Recover Permissions" option (on the right side of the space name). Clicking on it will provide you the permissions you need to become an administrator of the space and then delete the same.
As soon you take these actions from your side, do let me know! If any question appears in your mind meanwhile you perform these steps, I'm here to assist you!

Hi Vinicius, thanks for the response.
Unfortunately it looks like I don't have admin on that space I want to delete.
It also looks like the person who set it up, who has since left, was the admin on the site overall (I'm not sure anyone else has admin rights now - of it that's even possible) There's also a strange situation where it looks like everyone in the site has admin rights on new spaces that are created.
I'd like to get this locked down correctly. How can I request admin rights for my own account? As I said, it's not clear to me that anyone currently using the site actually has admin! If I have to request it from someone else who has admin for the site, how can i find out who that is?
Thanks, Rgds, Glen.
