Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×Hi there,
We will be exporting a Confluence Space and all of its pages, so that it can be imported into another Confluence Space (in a different Atlassian instance).
There are a number of pages in the Archived section of the original Space. Will these pages be exported as well? Or only the 'live' pages?
Thank you
This documentation has some answers on how to backup your entire site: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/create-a-site-backup-724765526.html
I would do this to create an XML copy of the database, then tar/zip up the filesystem and save it all together, with the XML. Note that you can only restore this XML to a current or later version of confluence, not an earlier version. And if you ever do restore, make sure you have all of the same plugins installed. The plugins and their versions will get zipped up with the rest of the filesystem, but sometimes the names of the jar on the system aren't too helpful, so it would be best to note what plugins and what versions are installed in a separate file.
It is also possible to create exports at the page or space level. More info on that here:

Thanks for your comment, unfortunately this doesn't help.
We just want to know if archived pages are exported when a space is migrated.

Hi Caitlin,
Yes if you do an XML export of a space that contains archived pages and import a space into another Confluence, archived spaces are getting exported / imported.
