I frequently need to read a table that's too wide for my screen. It's impractical to use the scroll bar at the bottom since that requires constant scrolling up and down. I can't reformat the table.
If I zoom out the browser, the margins just get wider. Refreshing does not make the table go full width. Personally I'd call that a bug.
I'm using Firefox on Mac.
Does side scrolling not work? I thought it did with my track pad.
He wrote that it is impractical to use that, since he always first has to scroll down to reach the horizontal bar, then has to scroll up again to get the information, then scroll down again to move back to the first part of the table, then scroll up again ... etc. I saw that also (Firefox on Windows), but could change my table so that it fits (although it is very ugly how the text is chopped into small pieces to fit the window, but it is either that or scroll down, scroll right, scroll up, scroll down, scroll left, scroll up ...).

Sorry I was unclear. I was referring to using side scrolling available on some mice and the apple trackpad. With side scrolling you wouldn't need to scroll down to access the scroll bar. Assuming it works of course. 😉
