I need to import the spaces and contents from a different Confluence Instance to this confluence

Ahmed, Raneez June 4, 2023

I need to import the spaces and contents from a different Confluence Instance to this confluence instance. I have the admin access, But I am not able to view the Settings option for Importing the Space contents. I have checked with my Superiors and no one has the Site Admin access. Now how can I request for Site Admin to import the contents

@Ahmed, Raneez

Is your source instance Server or Cloud? How about your target instance Server or Cloud?

If source instance is Server you can try a DB backup then restore it in the other instance.

Based on your first answer I will be Abe to see what can be done.

My source Instance is On-Prem and the target Instance is a Cloud one. I am currently an Administrator on the Cloud Instance. Do I require any additional permissions to restore the backup in the Cloud Instance?
Could you please let me know how to perform the DB backup from the server instance and what kind of permissions I need for that

@Fadoua
Thank you for the document. For confirmation, so I need to install the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant add-on on my Confluence Server Instance? and then proceed with the Migration?

So there is no need of Db Backup?

No need for the DB backup.

Follow the steps on Atlassian Documentation exactly how described. You will have a 100% successful migration.

More details under the following:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best of luck!

@Fadoua
Hi Could you please confirm whether I need to Admin access on both the Cloud and the server side to perform this migration process using the Add-on?
