I am using the latest page editor in Confluence cloud and I have found recently (maybe over the past week?) that selecting a cursor insert location and then immediately moving the mouse off the line 9 times out of 10 moves the cursor insert location back to the prior cursor location. If I select an insert location and then pause moving the mouse for a few seconds, then there is no issue. Having to wait moving the cursor, especially when cutting and pasting is extremely annoying and reduces my productivity as when I don't wait long enough, page edits go in the wrong location and then I have to notice and undo changes. This is especially noticeable when moving between table cells to copy/paste.
Has any one else been having this issue?
@Mont IT I have experienced this since I started using Confluence regularly 2 years ago. The fun part is that the page does not scroll to the place where the text is being inserted, which would prompt me to notice. I generally click a couple of times and make sure the cursor is flashing where I want before I start typing.
There have been a few other posts about this, including this recent one: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Cursor-keeps-on-randlomly-jumps-around-the-page/qaq-p/2803072
Hi @Mont IT if I'm understanding your workflow correctly, I'm not able to recreate your issue. I took a quick look on Atlassian's Jira Site and didn't find anything, but I could have missed something based on keywords. Have other users in your instance seen the same behavior? I'm using Edge, have you tried another browser or another workstation?
If you've tried those other steps, I'd suggest contacting Atlassian Support and have them weigh in on this issue.

Yeah, other users in my company experience the same issue. We use the cloud-based system so I'd be surprised if other cloud users don't experience the same using the latest editor. We have some pages that have not been converted over to the latest editor and they do not have this issue.
