Hello,
when we adding a link to OneDrive or SharePoint it does not get recognized as smartlink. Also adding directly a smartlink as content in a space shows only the message that content can´t be shown for this link.
Is there any restriction with OneDrive and SharePoint links?
Anything we can do to make them work?
For Google Drive links it works e.g.
Thanks
HI @Peter ,
I apologize for the delay in joining this discussion, but at least it shows that someone is dedicated enough to work late on Fridays. As @Kristian Klima has already mentioned, our SharePoint Connector for Confluence Cloud could be a suitable solution for your needs, especially if you're open to exploring third-party applications.
You can find our documentation and contact information through the link provided above, should you require any assistance. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

As mentioned before it's not about third party apps, the question is about the native confluence function smartlinks.

Hi @Peter -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Do you mean the embed option does not show / work or that the links do not work at all?
If it is the first one, please see this defect / suggestion, including the workaround noted: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-73899
Kind regards,
Bill

Hey @Bill Sheboy Unfortunately when I post the link there is no "Display URL" option.
Any idea what is wrong with our links?

No, I do not know. I just tried that with a OneDrive link and although the link saved and took me to the document from the page, there was no way to embed the content as described in workaround.
Apparently that no longer works that way; sorry for the out-of-date suggestion.

Worth to give it a try, thank you anyway for checking!

Hi @Peter
I understand that you want the native Smart Links feature to work. However, if you’re looking to integrate Confluence with SharePoint/OneDrive even further, check out this quick Guided Tour to see how easy it is to embed, preview, and edit SharePoint files directly in Confluence.

@Kristian Klima Thanks for your reply.
Of course I tested only with links for OneDrive and SharePoint where I have access. But it doesn´t work with any link, regardless the sharing settings in OneDrive/SP. I tried with a file/link which is shared e.g. with the hole company or even with "Everyone". The links itself work in a new tab but they are not embedded or recognized as smartlink.
We´re indeed using EntraID as SSO provider, even for Atlassian (Guard).
Do smartlinks with OneDrive and SharePoint work for you?

We're not using SharePoint, I was just trying to sum up the most common issues that I encountered when trying to share / embed content on Confluence.
Having said that:

The Video also relies on a third party application and not on Smartlinks.

Hi @Peter
You can use an app like SharePoint Connector from the Marketplace it has way more capabilities that the plain smart links and it's free up to 10 users.
You can check here the advantages of using a dedicated connector: https://www.ikuteam.com/blog/why-team-files-is-better-than-smart-links-to-manage-files-and-documents-confluence.html
Disclaimer: I'm part of the team that builds the connectors, and we are here to help you with any questions. :)

Thanks, I´m aware of third party apps but since this is an official feature from Confluence I´d like to use it or at least know why it is not working.
