Version: Confluence cloud
I'd like to create a directory for our company using confluence but would like to avoid pages (users profiles) getting out of sync. There is a metadata plugin but it is only for server.
Does anyone know how we could have live templates that work with the new editor?
Hello, Ryan.
Thank you for reaching out! Could you let me know what you are trying to sync Confluence with exactly in order to keep the profiles in sync? If you can let us know what technology you're using exactly as a source then we can suggest some options.
In terms of Live Templates, I'm not sure what you mean by that. Are you referring to the Live Templates in the Scaffolding plugin, or something else within Confluence?
Regards,
Shannon
We don't have a source to sync from nor would I want to introduce that complexity.
I'm looking for a way to manage a template that could be updated after the fact and propagate to all the pages that were created from it.
An example would be we have everyone go through and fill in the template with their bio's, skills. Then after 2 months we go back and add a section for the projects they have participated in. The projects section would populate down to all the pages.

Ryan,
Thank you for clarifying. I wasn't really clear on your issue because you had mentioned syncing and user profiles. Now I see you are referring to these individual pages as user profiles, rather than the built-in ones in Confluence People Directory.
This isn't possible in Confluence, but you might want to have a look at the existing template add-ons. Many of them are dynamic and could possibly help you with what you want to do:
If you have any questions about any of those add-ons please let us know and we'll be happy to help!
Regards,
Shannon
