User suddenly lost access to a confluence space

Andrew Seidel December 21, 2023

Hi there,

This user lost access to a space they were working in, and try as I might, I can't get them back on.

This is the space warning:

So I headed over to his profile under: https://quantumweb.atlassian.net/people/ and gave him admin access as you can see below. But that space warning does not change, and he still does not have access. His permissions look the same as others that have access.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Andrew

Hi @Andrew Seidel ~ what do you see when you hover over the warning?

Also, check to see if the space permissions have changed.

Hi Laurie,

There is nothing on hover over the warning.

Re; checking space permissions having changed, isn't that what I showed in my screenshot? They have changed, as this user can no longer access this space.

Cheers,

Andrew

@Andrew Seidel I believe what you've shown is that you have given the user access to your Confluence instance. This is separate from Site and Space permissions.

If you open the Space the user is trying to access, select Space Settings in the left navigation, then go to Space Permissions > General, you will see the permission settings for the Space.

See this page for more information: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/space-permissions-overview-139521.html

Thank you so much, this resolved our issue. No idea how the permissions dropped off in the first place, but at least it is resolved now.
